Virginia Brookshire, LPC, LCAS
Ginny uses a nurturing, person-centered approach to help people overcome various life struggles including anxiety, depression, stress, grief and addictions. Ginny strives to be genuine and authentic in her therapeutic practice and believes that each person can achieve innate healing. Among the therapies she draws from include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. Ginny also uses Expressive Arts Therapy when it’s relevant to the client’s issues and interest.
Ginny received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University with concentrations in Addictions and Expressive Arts Therapy. She has prior work experience as a substance abuse counselor and has trained other new professionals.
In her free time Ginny enjoys running, hiking, making art, yoga and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys the outdoors and is thankful to call the Appalachian Mountains her home.
