Andrew is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed to diagnose and treat mental illness. He is comfortable working with all ages and has experience helping people with conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, insomnia, psychotic disorders, PTSD, and ADHD. His chief tool is medication, but he is also an enthusiastic advocate of non-pharmacologic tools like mindfulness, therapy, and “natural” supplements.
Andrew graduated with his Masters of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health at the University of Virginia following eight years of nursing experience that included eldercare, oncology, physical rehabilitation, and pediatric psychiatry. As an NP student, Andrew completed his studies by working at outpatient practices with children, adolescents, and adults, with a notable emphasis on LGBTQ clients.
Andrew received his training as a nurse at Virginia Commonwealth University. Before that, he studied English at the College of William & Mary and worked in teaching, journalism, and copy editing in the United States and South Korea.
Andrew is a native of Danville, Virginia, who has recently moved to the Triad NC area to be closer to his family. An avid reader and lifelong learner, he also likes to travel, hike, garden, and play tabletop board games with his buddies.
