Counseling Intern

Caty (she/her) is a Counseling Intern currently studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. She received her undergraduate degree from Liberty University in 2021. Caty’s passion for mental health began at a very young age. During her adult life, this passion grew through various fruitful vocational and volunteer experiences, including her time as a Crisis Counselor for 988 Crisis Lifeline.

City has specific interests in working with folks from all walks of life to address symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, women’s issues, addiction, and trauma. Caty is drawn to various therapeutic approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Relational Cultural Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. She is also passionate about holistic care, incorporating physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual concerns into mental healthcare.

Caty believes in the power of healing through authentic and uplifting relationships. She looks forward to creating alliances with clients in which they can feel safe to process, receive support, and heal in their own time to reach their personal goals. Her intentions as a counselor are to demonstrate cultural humility and foster an environment where folks can be seen and heard.

In her free time, Caty enjoys exercising, attending book club, maintaining a spiritual practice, watching Pixar movies, and spending time with friends, family, and her two cats.
