Therapist
Kaitlyn is a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and she works with children, adolescents, and young adults. She is experienced with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which uses practical techniques for depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief, and post-traumatic stress. She also works with families to help them manage problems in the home, including those from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). In her work with young children, she draws from play and expressive-arts therapy to help them best express their wonders, worries, and hopes for life. She is inspired by the resilience of children and the strength of those who have been through traumatic events.
Kaitlyn has extensive training in grief, loss, life transitions, and trauma. She has obtained a certificate in traumatic stress studies from the Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute, receiving specialized training in the treatment of posttraumatic and dissociative disorders in children and adults. Through that background, she has seen how people can find new purpose after a trauma by reclaiming their voice and re-authoring their story. In her free time, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading fiction, and being creative.
