Larisa King, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Larisa Rollins King works with medications, natural therapies, lifestyle habits, and behavioral treatments. With over 12 years of experience in psychiatric nursing, she is aware of the importance of the therapeutic relationship between patient and provider and strives to help every patient feel comfortable during their visit, with a relaxed approach to communication and a focus on patient comfort. In addition to mental health, her professional interests are holistic self-care, resiliency, and emotional intelligence. She aims to help people learn to take better care of their mental health so that they may live their best lives and reach their fullest potential.

Larisa grew up in NC and has worked in health care all of her adult life. She completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training at East Carolina University under the supervision of Dr. Chris Aiken. She earned her associate degree in nursing at James Sprunt Community College in 2001, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Winston-Salem State University in 2012. She is currently a member of the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) and has presented her research on resiliency for both associations. She is also a member of the International Society of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses (ISPN) and the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA).

In her free time, Larisa enjoys gardening, sewing, being anywhere near the mountains, and spending time with her family, friends, and two Goldendoodles.
