Laura provides a client-centered, genuine, and empathetic approach to therapy using a combination of therapies that she has been introduced to through her 20+ years of counseling experience.  The primary modalities that she uses include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness approaches. In addition to working with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, Laura has experience with addictions, panic, social anxiety, sleep problems, trauma, grief (including pet loss), psychosis, and women’s issues (including prenatal/postnatal issues and menopause). Laura provides a safe space for members of the LGBTQ community and the ageing population.  Therapy is a journey and Laura feels that her role is to provide guidance and support in a safe space.  She offers individual therapy and works with ages 18 and above.

Laura earned her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA in 1999. She has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.

Outside of her work she enjoys adventure and lived several years in Australia where she started her family. She enjoys caring for her elderly rescue dogs, gardening, cooking, nature, bird watching, camping and music.
