Carolyn Rifkin, LPC, LCAS-A
Therapist and Director of Greensboro Therapy Services
Carolyn works with individuals, couples, and families. She believes that therapy begins with a good relationship and fit between counselor and client and works hard to establish trust and safety early on. Carolyn’s areas of interest include depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, relationships, early family experiences, as well as career and academic counseling. She also works with addictions and has experience as a residential therapist at an addictions center.
Her work is based in several forms of counseling, including solutions-focused therapy, emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. She has also received training in EMDR and brainspotting, two techniques to access, process, and overcome trauma, negative emotions, and other psychological pain. This mix of individualized talk therapy and deep internal reprocessing makes for powerful healing.
Carolyn is a graduate of the University of North Carolina – Greensboro, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A), and completing training in becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). Outside the office you can find her tackling DIY home renovations, hiking in the fresh air, or on a yoga mat.
