Professional Background
Dr. Elise Herman is a board-certified psychiatrist with over a decade of experience providing compassionate, patient-centered care. She earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed her residency in adult psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Duke University Hospital.
Dr. Herman joined Mood Treatment Center in February of 2025 as Chief Medical Officer. In this role, she leads the provider team and ensures clinical quality. She is actively involved in mentoring and developing clinicians, supporting their growth, and fostering a strong, collaborative culture. She also helps shape the center’s clinical direction and integrates innovative treatments into care.
Specialties
Dr. Herman specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders, and incorporates advanced treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) when appropriate.

Her approach is empathetic and evidence-based, with a focus on making mental health care both accessible and effective. She values building strong therapeutic relationships and tailoring care to meet each individual’s needs.
