Kyndal Auten LCSW, LCAS

Therapist

As a therapist, I will create a safe and supportive environment as we travel this road together. I love to connect with clients through a holistic approach. Together we can work as you create an understanding of yourself and equip you with the tools to accomplish your goals. Healing is not linear and I will work with you to navigate your path to recovery, understanding, and self-love.

I utilize several different approaches depending on your goals and experiences. Some of these are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. I approach all individuals through a person centered and trauma informed lens to maintain a sacred healing space for everyone. Some areas that I feel most passionate about are working with those experiencing addiction, postpartum experiences, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit disorder, and psychosis.

I graduated from Appalachian State University with both my Bachelors and Masters in Social Work. I have experience working in community mental health, inpatient hospital settings, as well as various other social work roles. I enjoy working with individuals on their road to recovery from substances or as a support to maintain sobriety. I also have experience supporting individuals and their families navigating pregnancy and postpartum experiences.

In my spare time, I enjoy living and learning in the Appalachian Mountains. I love spending time with my growing family and being a mom. My hobbies are listening to live music when I can, trying to keep my plants alive, and playing with my two large dogs and sassy orange cat.
